Executive Principals

Empowering Leaders.
Transforming Communities.

About

The Executive Leadership Programme is designed for current principals who want to continue their growth as a school leader, and who: aspire to create a lasting legacy, are passionate about rising strong, are centred on enriching their leadership team’s capacity and also for executive principals who want to be part of shaping the future of education.

We are finding that the cookie-cutter approach [OSFA] to professional development is failing. Less and less is it able to meet the diverse professional learning needs of executive principals and their context-sensitive, idiosyncratic needs and challenges. Thus, we have pioneered an adaptive and individualised approach aptly named: Personalised Leadership Pathways (PLP) for each delegate using a combined development platform which focuses on the interpersonal, leadership and professional dynamics associated with an executive principal position.

The programme is delivered over a one-year period (ensuring minimal disruption), it combines two vibrant PLG coaching retreats, online learning and networking, and face-to-face contact with an experienced and highly esteemed kaiārahi/coach. Principals explore their own strengths, weaknesses and opportunities and how they relate to their own leadership goals and day-to-day realities within their individual school context, as well as across the profession.

A key component of the course is the highly interactive three-day PLGs which allow participants to share their journey with like-minded principals from across the country. This process is enhanced through participant-generated korero, and peer-to-peer tuakana, that unlocks the existing skills and experience within the group. In addition to delivering vibrant professional development, the programme sets out to create powerful, lifelong networks that will invigorate and inspire delegates to soar behind their own expectations and create a lasting legacy both in and beyond their current leadership context.

Objective

Why have an Executive Leaders Programme?

Executive NLP is a completely unique PLD opportunity. It combines the best elements of a sabbatical with the benefit of having a personalised professional growth programme aligned to your contextual challenges. If you are passionate about creating a lasting legacy, serving the community and rising strong, alongside like-minded executive principals – this is for you.

Participants work with experts in school leadership to master effective strategies for building successful schools, e.g. student achievement, assessment, cultural transformation and building projects.

The Executive NLP is based upon a framework that focuses on the interpersonal, leadership and professional development of self and how this relates to their role within their school and across the sector. In addition to enabling real outcomes for individual leaders, the Executive NLP is recognised as a unique and innovative programme that contributes in a meaningful way to the realisation of equity in relation to formal educational leadership.
