About the Course

LITERACY-FIT is a research-based, innovative look at best-practice teaching, as well as emergent pedagogy that is proven to actually work in supporting and improving student [particularly boys] engagement and achievement in Literacy.

Grounded in recent international research, including research from the McGill Centre for Research in Neuroscience, you will come away equipped with:

  • Teaching techniques to improve learners’ engagement and achievement.
  • Innovative tools to ignite and empower learners’ reading and writing.
  • Understanding ways to teach and support neurodiverse learners.
  • Research-based learning theories to support your mahi, working with individuals and small groups of readers/writers.
  • Strategies and practical take-aways to immediately implement.

The online program includes a variety of content from our keynote speakers and includes a downloadable copy of the presentation slides.

A graduating Literacy-FIT certificate will be issued to participants following completion of course.

Facilitators

Keryn Annan

Her work emphasizes the importance of a strengths-based approach, highlighting how such strategies can lead to increased engagement, productivity, and overall satisfaction within teams and organizations.

Marshall Diggs

Marshall has a background as a principal, community leader and keynote speaker, Marshall’s role as Director at the Growth Culture Leadership Academy perfectly combines his incredible ability to inspire educators, with his strengths in leadership, coaching and mentoring.

Marshall excels in effective leadership, bicultural leadership, culture-building, innovation, and strategic solutions. A sought-after speaker at national and international conferences, his strengths lie in effective communication, leadership development, and team building. Marshall and his wife are also deeply committed to global impact. Currently, they are pioneering community transformation projects in Australia, Uganda, Fiji and New Zealand in partnership with several charitable organisations including the Strengths Foundation and World Vision.

This $747 ex GST course is FULLY FUNDED FOR TEACHER AIDES through the Ministry of Education
