Keynote Facilitators

Rico Gomez

Rico is the director of NeuroFit and co-founder of the NeuroFit Foundation. His background and experience is in psychology, counselling, cognitive neuroscience, pastoral care and youth work.
He has coached some of our country's highest performing athletes, coaches and leaders to clear the mental mess and create long term brain change. His passion is to help Aotearoa get unstuck from the mental chaos & equip them with tools to experience life to the fullest.
Rico’s drive for mental health and well-being stems from his own battle with mental illness and being able to overcome the barriers of chronic anxiety and depression.

Dawn Wilson

Dawn specialises in behavioural, social and academic programmes for students with ASD and other disorders.
She believes no child is the same and therefore all her programmes are written based on whats right for the child. She is a strong believer in professional development and enjoying sharing new concepts and knowledge with others.
Dawn feels it is important that everyone around the child, parents, family and teachers understand the importance of the programme and how to best implement it in all situations.

Dr Kirsten Davis - Clinical Psychologist

Kirsten has worked with adolescents across both public mental health and private sectors for the last two decades.
She has extensive experience in DBT consultation, supervision and training in community outpatient, inpatient, forensic, residential care & protection settings and schools. In her private practice Kirsten works with clients of all ages and is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness based approaches.

Abigail Uttley

With a dual background in Economics and English, Abi spent over a decade teaching in several large New Zealand high schools. Building on this experience, she undertook postgraduate studies in Human Resource Management, focusing on teacher retention strategies. She furthered her learning with studies in Organisational Psychology, the Science of Learning, and Structured Literacy.

Abi's diverse background has shaped her passion for understanding how people learn and thrive. She now applies this knowledge in her role at Growth Culture where she support educators in developing their practice.
