  1. I have had experience with all ranges of form classes, horizontal, vertical, house. In my experience house deans work well if you have a very strong house culture in your school, otherwise it can fall a bit flat. Vertical can work well if you have strong seniors with leadership. Being a dean of year 9/10 in a horizontal system can be hard work and you can spread the load a bit if in vertical or houses. However it depends on your staff and their skill set too, some are amazing with those hard groups but not so great with NCEA students. No real answers sorry!

  2. Hey everyone,

Ally came to visit today and we got talking on a few things and I thought it would be a good idea to get your opinions as well please.

Just wondering if any of your schools have horizontal form class with House Deans? So 1 Dean cover 5 years levels. Would like to know the pros and cons

    Thanks
    Ash
